Excellent Halden SK results

NSOlavKilesThe current EOC test Solrenningen was significant for our Norwegian athletes who have EOC in sight. And it was a very exciting long distance with high dramatic. Course setter Øyvind Helgerud had invited to a demanding course and shifting terrain. Especially the conclusion of the courses offered surprises. In the end, Olav won and Mari was number two - Magne became number 4, Ida and Mattias showed that they are back in business and the juniors delivered top results

First the women's class: it looked like Mari Fasting had it all under control after Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg had missed on the ending of the cource. With GPS tracking in the final phase, the audience witnessed the dramatic images when Hausken missed several minutes on the last controls. The terrain in the final phase was demanding of green and yellow spaces and the competitors that did not slowed down were suddenly in trouble. So it was also with Silje Ekroll Jahren who travelled the longest straw and won ahead of Mari. Mari secured 2nd place in front of Tone Wigemyr. Ida Marie Næss Bjørgul did a great 4th place, while Anne Margrethe came at 5. place to end. It was especially gratifying that Ida Marie had a good run, after she was declared fit to start the first evening before the competition. Ingunn Fristad and Iliana Shandurkova also came in the top with fine 8th and 10th place.

In the men's class: the trio Magne Dæhli, Mattias Karlsson and Erik Axelsson did strong, getting respectively, 4th, 5th and 10th place. Emil Wingstedt ended 10 minutes behind Olav at 15th place. Especially nice is the fact that Mattias begins to show results and fine form after a relatively though winter.

Coolchics

With today's results will probably both Magne Dæhlie and Ida Marie Næss Bjørgul get a place in the Norwegian team for EOC in addition to Anne Margrethe, Mari and Olav. We think it can be exciting competitions in Dalarna later this season. Qualified from Halden SK are also Søren Bobach (DEN), Celine Dodoin (FRA), Vincent Coupat (FRA) and Vendula Klechova (TCH). Bodil ran the first qualification race in Finland yesterday, and was there no 8. Both for Bodil and the Swedes the quaifications continue next weekend.

In the junior classes took Petter Næss Bjørgul a 6th place in H19-20, Oda Wennemo was number 7. in D19-20, Gry Granstedet No.8. in D17-18 and Anders Felde Olaussen number 6. in H17-18E.
