Bulgarian cross-country team was on a 4-days training camp at Høiås hytta. They arrived with a big mini-bus, lots of luggage and many pairs of skis. The team was very happy to visit the orienteering paradise Halden as all of them are good friends to orienteering runners.
During their stay they travelled to Drammen where they participated at the sprint race of the World Cup. Then they visited Nordmenn‘s favorite Swedish destination “Nordby” and saw what “Crazy shopping” is on Sundays.
The spent time at Høiås was very pleasant - they did not have single rooms and full board but were absolutely satisfied with the facilities at the hut. The team was happy to visit the old building of Høiås hytta with lots of cups and prizes from big relays. “This is a real museum!” -the comments were.
Even in Halden the snow conditions were very suitable for team’s VM preparation. The 5 competitors were training mostly classic style on the nice tracks at Høiåsmarka. The average skiers-age is 22 years and the head coach is hoping for the competitors to perform their best.
It is well known that elite cross-country has huge demands and not every nation can afford these. Yet it will be bigger fun with more nations into fight and more flags at Holmenkollen
