New runner for Halden SK - Julien Vuitton

The main reason Julien joined Halden is the training structure and the nice maps near Halden. Get to know Julien here.

When did you join Halden?

In the beginning of 2023

What made you join Halden?

Mostly thanks to Guilhem Elias, one of my friends. I already knew Halden SK as a great club in the big Scandinavian relays and he told me a lot about the training structure and the nice maps near Halden.

What do you do when you are not running orienteering?

I’m studying physiotherapy in Geneva in Switzerland.

I love to go in the mountains, for trail running or back country skiing.

Best achievements so far in your orienteering career?

4th on JWOC Middle in 2021

What are your ambitions for 2023?

I was not selected for World Cup in Norway so now the focus is on selection races for WOC in Switzerland and on next season 2024.

What is your favourite type of terrain?

The terrains in the Jura mountains (like WOC 2012 Middle), I spent a lot of time training there
as I live not so far away.

Sprint or forest?

Forest or what?

Nylon or tights?

Tiomila or Jukola?

I’ve never been to Jukola so I can’t say

Night or day?

Hard to choose, most of my trainings are in daytime, but I definitely love night orienteering!
