Our runners were: Elena Roos (SUI) Magne Dæhli (NOR), Guilhem Elias, Adrien Delenne and Maëlle Beauvir (FRA), Martin Roudný, Jakub Glonek, Michaela Dittrichova and Eliška Sieglová (CZE), Alvaro Casado and Ana Toledo (ESP), Jo Shepherd (GBR), Csaba Gerber (HUN).
The week started off with individual sprint and sprint relay in the city of Česká Lípa and ended with forest middle and long distance in the amazing sandstone terrains around Kokořínsko.
The sprint highlight for the club’s runners was of course Elena Roos’ victory with the Swiss team in the sprint relay with an excellent execution of the anchor leg by Elena. Elena also had a good individual sprint with a 4th place, only 8 seconds from top 3. Worth mentioning from the sprint part of the World Cup round is Jakub Glonek’s amazing 2nd leg for Czechia contributing strongly to the team’s popular 2nd place on home soil.
In addition, Ana Toledo and Alvaro Casado run strong legs in the Spanish team, which brought Spain to a historic best international relay result with an impressive 5th place.
The highlights for the HSK-runners in the forest part were Elena Roos’ stable performance in both the middle and long distance, places 14th and 10th, and Martin Roudný’s “international breakthrough” in the really tough long distance, placing him into a brilliant 14th spot, beating all the Norwegians except the winner Kasper Fosser.
The next and final stage of the World Cup is held in Italy (EOC) in October.
