We are happy to welcome one of Britain's most promising orienteers, Alexander (Sasha) Chepelin, to Halden SK. Sasha was born 1997, raised in Aberdeen in Scotland and is going into his 1st year as a senior.
He did remarkably well in the Junior World Championships in Tampere, Finland in his last year as a junior finishing 5th, 7th and 7th (sprint, middle, long). Hopefully he will develop further as an orienteer with support from Halden SK and the training environment in the club.
Vi välkomnar Rickard Djerf, Viktor Wassén och Elias Bäcklund Ekvall som flyttade till Halden i oktober. De bor i HSK-huset på Alfheimveien och deltar flitigt i klubbträningarna. De ska representera HSK nästa år.

Halden är som en orienteringsmecka och vart ska man annars flytta om man vill bli en bättre orienterare?
Jag har mätt upp vägvalen från sprint-träningen i Halden centrum och klistrat in dem nedan.

Trackingen från träningen finns hos Loggator(de flesta hade väst på sig men inte alla så precisionen varierar).
Det är inte alltid det kortaste vägvalet som är snabbast. Underlaget, stigningen, antalet svängar, smala passager, egen teknisk skicklighet... påverkar löphastigheten.
We are very happy to welcome two promising French juniors, Hélène Champigny and Guilhem Elias, in our club. They are both members of the French national team (Hélène as a youth team member, and Guilhem as a junior) and they both come from South-East France (near Marseille on Mediterranean coast).
Guilhem has already shown up some true talent at international level by setting an impressive streak of 8 medals out of 9 races at EYOC (2015-2016-2017), and he was selected for JWOC already this year with a 6th place from the relay as best result. Hélène is among the best French girls of her age and has been running EYOC in 2016.
